Senior Project Accountant

Our client here in Boston is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project/Property Accountant who will support both project-level development accounting and operational property accounting for our growing portfolios. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level professional to take ownership of full-cycle accounting processes across both active development projects and stabilized assets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage project budgets, cost tracking, and funding schedules for active developments
• Process monthly draw requests and reconcile with construction contracts and change orders
• Work closely with the development team to ensure timely and accurate reporting of project costs
• Track and record development-related invoices, ensuring appropriate coding and approvals
• Assist in capital planning and forecasting for active and upcoming developments
• Prepare monthly job cost reports and support lender reporting packages
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for partially leased office and commercial properties
• Record and reconcile tenant billings, including rent, CAM, and real estate taxes
• Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties
• Reconcile bank accounts and perform balance sheet account reconciliations
• Assist in annual CAM and tax reconciliations and support tenant audit requests
• Ensure compliance with lease agreements and assist with onboarding new tenants in Yardi
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
• 3 years of relevant experience in project and/or property accounting
• Strong proficiency in Yardi (required)
• Prior experience in real estate development and property management accounting
  
  

Base- $90K-$110K Bonus

Hybrid- 4 days in office
