Payroll Accountant

Comp: $80K–$90K

Location: Hybrid - Boston

Overview

We’re hiring a Payroll Accountant for a growing, global comapny. This is a hands-on role blending payroll processing accounting (GL, JEs, reconciliations)—not just pure payroll.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly, multi-state payroll (~400 employees) using ADP Workforce Now
• Handle payroll-related journal entries, GL postings, and account reconciliations
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close (W-2s, 941s, etc.)
• Review timesheets, bonuses, commissions, and reimbursements
• Partner with HR on employee setup, benefits, and payroll accuracy
• Manage payroll tax registrations and compliance across states
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and support audits/reporting
  
  

Qualifications

• 3 years of payroll accounting experience
• Strong understanding of debits/credits, GL, and reconciliations
• Experience processing multi-state payroll (300 employees)
• ADP Workforce Now highly preferred
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables)
• Bachelor’s in Accounting
