The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who is comfortable spending significant time on the floor, improving processes, developing employees, and driving safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations across receiving, processing, warehousing, shipping, and distribution
- Manage supervisors, team leads, and hourly employees across multiple shifts
- Oversee workflow, scheduling, inventory, order fulfillment, and on-time delivery
- Drive material yield, scrap reduction, productivity, and job-level profitability
- Partner with Sales and Purchasing on order flow, lead times, and customer commitments
- Develop and implement training, cross-training, and process improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and OSHA requirements
- Coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, and outside service vendors
- Manage warehouse expenses, supplies, and operating costs
- Partner with senior leadership to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, technology, and processes
- Keep leadership and Sales informed of delays, operational issues, and customer-impacting concerns
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate an hourly workforce
- Experience leading warehouse, operations, or distribution teams
- Experience managing multiple shifts and frontline supervisors
- Understanding of safety programs and OSHA compliance
- Light manufacturing, processing, or fabrication experience is a plus
- Experience with material yield, scrap reduction, or job profitability is a plus
