Responsibilities For The Senior Financial Analyst Position
- Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes for assigned expense areas, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic initiatives.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models to support forecasting, scenario analysis, and long-range expense planning.
- Perform detailed variance analysis, including actuals vs. forecast, forecast vs. forecast, and budget vs. actuals, and clearly communicate drivers to stakeholders.
- Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Partner with business and operational leaders to understand cost drivers, identify savings opportunities, and support informed decision-making.
- Analyze expense performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve financial outcomes.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs), including both financial and operational metrics, to support performance management.
- Support management of recurring expense programs, including forecasting, payment tracking, and process improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, legal, and other internal teams on expense- and risk-related initiatives.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, business cases, and strategic projects as needed.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 3 years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or corporate finance, preferably within a large or complex organization.
- Strong experience with Financial modeling and forecasting, Expense management and cost analysis
- Variance reporting and performance analysis
- Exposure to insurance, risk management, or other regulated or enterprise-level expense categories is a plus, but not required.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong PowerPoint presentation capabilities.
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle or similar), BI tools, and large datasets.
- Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and translate financial data into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
