Corporate Controller

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting has partnered with a fast-growing life sciences company in Seacoast NH in their search to hire a Controller. The Controller position will be hands on, responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations while also contributing to broader financial strategy as the organization scales. The ideal candidate for the Controller position would possess experience in life sciences, or a related regulated industry and is comfortable operating in a startup or small-company setting. This role offers visibility to senior leadership and the opportunity to help shape the finance function from the ground up.

Responsibilities For The Controller Position

• Oversee general accounting operations including monthly close, reporting, payroll, payables/receivables, and compliance
• Identify, create and maintain best accounting and reporting processes ensuring it follows GAAP guidelines
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts
• Monitor and track spend across key departments to ensure accuracy and alignment with financial goals
• Prepare reports and data to support fundraising activities and investor communications
• Ensure ongoing compliance with accounting standards and industry-specific regulations
• Serve as a key liaison for external partners including audit and tax firms
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CPA preferred) but not required
• 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally within life sciences or a related field
• Prior experience in early-stage or startup/growth-stage companies preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial systems
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and wearing multiple hats
  
  

Salary: $200-250K base salary, plus bonus, equity. Excellent Benefits to include Unlimited PTO and paid benefits
