- Oversee full-cycle accounting: AP, AR, GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
- Manage payroll (bi-weekly), multi-state tax filings, and business registrations.
- Prepare and present financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) to ownership.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow modeling (30/60/90-day), and scenario planning.
- Maintain WIP reports, job costing, and project close-out financial analysis.
- Manage external CPA relationships, annual audits, tax returns, and bonding capacity.
- Develop executive dashboards, KPI reporting, and variance analysis.
- Automate workflows and strengthen internal controls using QuickBooks Online.
- Calculate and process bonuses, commissions, and expense policy compliance.
- Partner with leadership on strategic planning, funding, and growth initiatives.
- Experience: 5–8 years in progressive accounting; small company or construction services background ideal.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Technical Skills: Expert-level QuickBooks Online required; Excel mastery (VBA/macros a plus); Paylocity/Emburse a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong GAAP, financial reporting, payroll, and tax compliance; project accounting/WIP a plus.
- Skills: Analytical, proactive, and excellent communicator with leadership potential.
- Mindset: Hands-on, autonomous, and thrives in a growing, collaborative environment.
- Bonus: Funding experience, external CPA management, or construction industry exposure.
- Location: Local to the Greater Boston area for 100% onsite work.
