KBW has teamed up with a high-growth technology/manufacturing company seeking a hands-on Controller to build and scale its accounting and finance function. This is an opportunity to establish financial infrastructure, implement scalable processes, and partner with executive leadership in a fast-paced startup environment.

Compensation: $180,000 - $210,000 plus bonus and equity (Excellent benefits)

Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
- Build and improve accounting systems, policies, internal controls, and financial reporting.
- Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and support audits and tax filings.
- Manage general ledger, reconciliations, payroll, AP/AR, treasury, and cash flow.
- Implement ERP and accounting systems to support growth.
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, fundraising, and strategic financial decisions.
- Ensure GAAP compliance and strengthen financial controls.
- CPA preferred.
- Began career in a Big 4 or large regional CPA firm, followed by industry experience with public company technical accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, audit, inventory accounting, government contracting/grants, and internal controls.
- Experience building or improving accounting systems and processes.
- IPO readiness or public company reporting experience is highly desirable.
- Startup or high-growth experience is a plus.
- Technology, manufacturing, or deep-tech industry experience is preferred.
