Responsibilities For The Controller Position
- Oversee all key accounting functions including billing, collections, payables, inventory activity, banking, and ledger maintenance
- Approve payroll submissions and journal entries, and ensure proper reconciliation of key accounts
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year end financial statements
- Maintain fixed asset records and coordinate periodic inventory and asset audits across multiple locations
- Manage cost accounting reporting
- Strengthen and enforce internal control procedures to ensure compliance and financial accuracy
- Serve as the primary contact for external audit coordination and tax preparation with outside accounting partners
- Monitor and report on weekly financial metrics to help guide strategic decision-making
- Foster collaboration across departments and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the finance team
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA is a plus but not required
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior leadership or supervisory roles
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting operations across multiple business functions
- Experience working with ERP systems and reporting tools
- Proven ability to manage deadlines, lead teams, and communicate effectively with leadership
- Manufacturing cost accounting experience is preferred but not required
