- Collect weekly/biweekly payroll data and resolve employee or employer questions
- Maintain accurate employee information including rates, hire dates, raises, W-4 details, and benefits
- Calculate wages, deductions, and taxes; process payroll through QuickBooks Desktop
- Submit payroll for direct deposit or prepare paystubs for distribution
- Process payroll tax and benefit payments according to required deadlines
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax returns
- Access client portals to obtain required financial information
- Enter monthly bookkeeping activity and perform account reconciliations
- Communicate questions or discrepancies to clients and follow up before finalizing work
- Support general office administrative duties (phones, greeting clients, scanning, filing)
- Opportunity to train in tax preparation; additional hours available if desired
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on payroll preparation, payment, and reporting experience
- Minimum 3 years of full-charge bookkeeping experience in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
- Knowledge of payroll regulations, compliance, and best practices
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
