What You’ll Do
- Lead and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, roll forwards, and variance analysis.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and review accounting activity for proper coding, classification, and timely resolution.
- Review and oversee accounting activity related to accounts payable, billing, and other operational areas.
- Review the work of accounting team members and provide guidance to ensure accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Improve accounting processes, close procedures, reconciliations, documentation, and internal controls.
- Develop and enhance Excel-based reporting, schedules, and tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Support financial statement preparation, management reporting, audits, and ERP-related initiatives.
- Help identify opportunities for automation, improved reporting, and greater consistency across accounting processes.
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience with strong hands-on month-end close and general ledger experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience supervising, reviewing, or coordinating the work of accounting professionals.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build effective schedules, reconciliations, and reporting tools.
- Strong ERP experience and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- A process-improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and consistency.
