- Overseeing 4 employees, the Assistant Controller reports to the Controller and works closely with the CFO
- Oversee the month-end close process including reconciliations and journal entries
- Assist with month-, quarter-, and year-end financial statements
- Track investments, endowment, and grant revenue recognition
- Manage post-award grants management
- Partner with IT for any process improvement or integrations
- Manage 4 employees including reviewing work, providing feedback, and providing coaching
- Support the annual audit
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or experience equivalent ( 4 years)
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role
- Experience in nonprofit accounting and grants management required
- CPA certification is a plus but not required
