Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) is partnering with a well-established nonprofit assisted living organization to identify a Controller/CFO to lead its accounting and financial operations. Controller/CFO Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting
• Prepare and present financial statements, management reporting, and financial analysis to leadership
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes
• Manage cash flow and provide insight into the organization’s overall financial position
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and nonprofit reporting requirements
• Coordinate the annual audit, tax filings, and relationships with external accountants and advisors
• Provide financial guidance to executive leadership and assist with long-term financial planning
• Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and recommend opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen the organization
• Lead, mentor, and support accounting staff while remaining hands-on with day-to-day financial activities
  
  

Controller/CFO Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong foundation in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
• Previous experience in a Controller, Director of Finance, CFO, or similar accounting leadership role
• Nonprofit experience strongly preferred
• Experience within assisted living, senior living, healthcare, or a related industry is a plus
• Knowledge of nonprofit accounting and financial reporting requirements preferred
• Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, hands-on approach
• Ability to communicate financial information effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
• CPA or advanced degree is a plus
