The Kaufman Dolowich Chicago office is seeking an Insurance Coverage Attorney with 3 years of experience to join our growing and highly regarded Insurance Coverage and Litigation Practice.

Our attorneys receive meaningful hands-on experience, direct client interaction, and strong mentorship while representing national, regional, and international insurance carriers in complex coverage disputes across a broad range of insurance lines.
Attorneys are given the opportunity to take an active role in all phases of coverage analysis and litigation, including evaluating coverage issues, drafting coverage opinions, handling motion practice, participating in depositions and mediations, and developing litigation and claims strategies. The ideal candidate will be a motivated attorney who is eager to deepen their insurance coverage expertise, assume increasing responsibility, and build a successful long-term practice within a growing national law firm.
Responsibilities
$130,000 – $200,000

Base salary represents one component of Kaufman Dolowich’s Total Rewards package, which also includes a discretionary and billable hours-based bonus program and comprehensive benefits for full-time employees.

Responsibilities
- Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution
- Analyze insurance policies and evaluate complex coverage issues
- Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, disclaimer letters, and other coverage-related correspondence
- Litigate insurance coverage matters, including handling depositions, motion practice, mediations, hearings, and trials
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents
- Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic guidance and regular case updates
- Collaborate closely with attorneys across offices and practice groups on complex coverage and litigation matters
- Admission to practice in Illinois required; Indiana admission is a plus
- 3 years of insurance coverage and/or insurance coverage litigation experience
- Strong analytical, writing, research, and communication skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills
- Professional liability coverage
