The Carpenter will be responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry tasks across residential and commercial construction and restoration projects. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to deliver high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rough and finish carpentry including framing, drywall, trim, cabinetry, and millwork
- Install doors, windows, flooring, and custom woodwork
- Assist with reconstruction projects involving fire, water, or storm damage
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately
- Work alongside project managers and other trades to meet timelines and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe job site in compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and occasionally clients
- Assist with demolition and site preparation when needed
Qualifications
- 8 years of carpentry experience (residential and/or commercial preferred)
- Experience in restoration or insurance repair work is a plus
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Skilled in both rough and finish carpentry
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cabinetry or custom millwork
- Familiarity with remodeling projects (kitchens, bathrooms, additions)
- Basic knowledge of other trades (electrical, plumbing, etc.)
- OSHA certification or willingness to obtain
