What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of On-Campus Recruiting (Football) position at KANSAS ATHLETICS?
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
- Develop the recruiting agendas for all unofficial and official visits. Coordinate facility tours, campus tours, meals and transportation for prospects during visits. Organize the recruiting highlight video and in-venue experience. Send out notifications of official and unofficial visits. Manage campus invitations to encourage potential student-athlete visit to campus (football and non-football games);
- Complete all necessary compliance paperwork prior to and after each visit. Track and record necessary details for each visit for all prospective student-athletes;
- Serve as the primary individual in the player personnel department responsible for overseeing registration at all events, including, but not limited to, preparing registration sheets in necessary software, requesting needed equipment through facilities department, reserving and setting up table dressings, and creating and hanging proper signage;
- Responsible for the creation of credentials/lanyards and the distribution of those items.
- Keep detailed records of all campus visits to include a tracking system of what each recruit has done on previous visits to better customize each experience that each recruit and family has when visiting campus.
- Oversee ticket distribution and PSA identification process for home football games and other on-campus recruiting events, per NCAA guidelines;
- Oversee the KU football interns when it comes to their involvement in on-campus recruiting functions and their responsibilities.
- Serve as direct contact and liaison to both campus partners and external partners in relation to setting up campus visits; responsible for fostering and growing these relationships.
- Create summaries of visits by prospective student-athletes to campus and document important notes in applicable databases;
- Order necessary printed recruiting supplies, including invitations, credentials and other mailing needs.
- Assist with all summer camps for the University of Kansas football program.
- Assist Director of Player Personnel and football recruiting staff, as permitted by NCAA rules and policies governing non-coaching staff members;
- Additional duties may be assigned by Athletic Director, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Football Administration, or Head Football Coach.
Work Environment
This job operates in both a professional office environment and outside at football-related events, including inclement weather. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and various digital devices, including, but not limited to: cell phone, printer, copy machine, and other related devices. This job requires flexibility and adaptability in schedule and the ability to perform job related duties on short notice.

This position may require frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds; standing up to eight hours each day; and working in all weather conditions.

Travel is not expected for this position.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work will vary based on the needs of the football program and as job duties demand. Early morning, evening and weekend work maybe required.

Qualifications:Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with student-athletes at an NCAA Intercollegiate Athletics program or coaching in high school football programs;
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Must have a service-oriented attitude and maintain a positive attitude;
- Ability to work well both independently and in collaboration with staff as a team member;
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary;
- Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
