What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting position at Kane Partners LLC?
Overview
This is the kind of opportunity that doesn't come along very often.
A highly successful, powerhouse financial services and insurance organization ($1.3B revenue / $700M net income) has launched a brand-new, greenfield P&C Reinsurance platform. We are seeking a sharp, high-potential accounting leader to step into this pivotal role and help build the accounting infrastructure entirely from the ground up.
We are not necessarily looking for someone who has already reached the Director level. We are highly interested in strong, motivated Accounting Managers and Senior Managers coming out of P&C Insurance Carriers, Reinsurance Carriers, or insurance-focused public accounting practices who are ready for broader visibility, true operational ownership, and a legitimate seat at the table as the business scales.
Why This Role Is Different
Most corporate accounting roles focus entirely on maintaining existing, rigid processes. This role is about helping build them.
Operating out of our King of Prussia area office, you will work directly alongside senior executive leadership, underwriting, actuarial, and corporate finance teams to design, scale, and run the accounting framework for a rapidly expanding reinsurance platform. You get the financial backing and stability of a massive public parent company, paired with the career upside and dynamic environment of a day-one startup.
What You'll Be Doing
· Technical Research & Analysis: Spearhead complex technical accounting research and author policy memorandums specific to new P&C reinsurance vehicles.
· Financial Reporting: Own the preparation and review of comprehensive GAAP and Statutory reporting requirements.
· Infrastructure Building: Design, implement, and execute scalable accounting processes, robust financial controls, and operational workflows for the growing business.
· Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as the core finance liaison, collaborating closely with underwriting, actuarial, and executive leadership teams to analyze performance.
· Audit & Regulatory Support: Lead the preparation for internal/external audits and ensure flawless compliance with state and federal insurance regulatory bodies.
What We're Looking For
· Active CPA Required: Must hold an active Certified Public Accountant credential.
· Industry Frameworks: Solid experience working directly within a P&C Insurance Carrier, Reinsurance Carrier, or a dedicated public accounting practice focusing on insurance audit.
· Reporting Expertise: Deep operational familiarity with both GAAP and Statutory reporting guidelines.
· Professional Level: Currently operating at the Accounting Manager or Senior Manager level (or a Senior Associate/Supervisor in public ready for a major upward jump).
· Mindset: A proactive, "ownership" mentality with the capacity to thrive in an agile, entrepreneurial environment.
Why Professionals Make This Move
· Ground-Floor Opportunity: Be part of a newly launched reinsurance platform with significant capital backing.
· Executive Exposure: Regular, direct collaboration with C-suite and executive leadership.
· Expanded Scope: Broader accountability, autonomy, and variance in daily tasks than a traditional corporate accounting role.
· Career Trajectory: A clear, unblocked path toward future executive leadership opportunities as the footprint grows.
Salary : $135,000 - $200,000
