What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Controls Engineer / Programmer (CODESYS / PacDrive 3) position at Kane Partners LLC?
Full Benefits | Extensive Travel (U.S.)
If you’re the kind of controls engineer who likes solving real problems in the field, not sitting behind a desk, this is your lane.
We are seeking an experienced CODESYS Controls Engineer (Schneider PacDrive 3) to join a Field Service team supporting highly complex pharmaceutical and medical device automation systems across the U.S.
This is a remote-based role with heavy national travel (~30 weeks/year) to customer sites.

What you’ll do:
- Troubleshoot and resolve PLC, HMI, and controls issues (remote onsite)
- Commission, startup, and optimize complex automation systems
- Develop and implement PLC / HMI software for existing equipment
- Integrate multi-subsystem automation, including:
- Robotics
- Lasers
- Cameras
- Support machine validation, testing, and GMP documentation
- Train operators and provide high-level customer support
- Deliver structured diagnostics and long-term solutions — not quick fixes
What you bring:
- 5–10 years in industrial automation / controls engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with CODESYS IEC 61131-3
- Background with Schneider PacDrive / servo-driven multi-axis systems
- Experience programming servo motors (required)
- Zenon HMI experience strongly preferred
