Summary of Functions
The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the operations of his/her assigned store. The Assistant Manager is a key support element to the Store Manager. Is a voice of leadership and direction in the absence of the Store Manager and provides guidance to shift leaders and team members while on shift. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors understand and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements and regulations as applicable to both store and fuel operations. (Tribal, State and Federal)
- Ensures that the convenience store is kept clean and safe-this includes its bathroom facilities, food service facilities, indoor and outdoor equipment, and the grounds immediately adjacent to store.
- Works with the Store Manager to ensure appropriate levels of inventory are maintained for both fuel operations and food service operations and orders to maintain inventory at required levels.
- Consults with the Store Manager and ensure pricing and mark-ups are consistent with established guidelines and make recommendations for adjustments thereto in the best interest of the business.
- Establishes and maintains consistently high standards of customer service and vendor relations.
- Records, documents and reconcile stores daily, weekly, and monthly food service and fuel sales.
- Works with the Store Manager to perform monthly inventories of stock and merchandise.
- Works with the Store Manager to train and develop staff in daily operations of the convenience store and food service venue.
- Works with the Store Manager to conduct employee performance evaluations.
- Works with the Store Manager to prepare employee work schedules based on operational needs.
- Works with the Store Manager to ensure integrity of the operation.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular good attendance record.
- Ensure control/protection of company assets.
- Assists the Venue Manager in optimizing profitability through control of food cost, paper cost, labor, and operating and cleaning supplies.
- Ensures compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians, Internal Controls, and KTEA Policies, venue specific operations and Procedures.
- Receiving deliveries and interactions with vendors to ensure proper FIFO (first in, first out) of all products and proper storage.
- Available and willing to work any changes in hours deemed necessary for Business Levels.
- May be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Hearings.

Experience
- Two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and other computer software.
- Excellent verbal, writing and editing skills.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department heads, vendors, and team members.
- Skill in solving practical problems and dealing with situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skill in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and remain positive in a multi-tasking, high demand position.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
