Position: Travel Physical Therapist

Location: Lihue, HI

Pay: $60/hour

Experience: At least 1 year of home health experience required; first-time travelers welcome.

Education: Degree in Physical Therapy and active Hawaii state license required.

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Travel Physical Therapist to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

• Provide home health physical therapy services to patients to restore function, mobility, and independence.
• Assess and evaluate patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Document patient progress, assessments, and discharge notes accurately in OASIS.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercise programs, safety techniques, and use of assistive devices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
• Travel between patient homes and float to cover Oahu, Maui, and/or the Big Island as needed (expenses paid).
• Maintain compliance with all safety, documentation, and quality standards.
  
  

Position Requirements:

• Current Hawaii Physical Therapy License and BLS (AHA) certification required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a home health environment.
• Strong knowledge of geriatrics, orthopedics, neurology, and post-stroke rehabilitation.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, treatment planning, and mobility training.
• Ability to lift and move patients safely using proper body mechanics.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills.
• Commitment to safety, patient education, and continuous quality improvement.
