National certification (ASCP/AMT/AAB/HEW) and current BLS (AHA/ARC); state license if required.

Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Description:

• Perform routine diagnostic tests in chemistry, hematology, immunology, and related areas.
• Prepare and process specimens, ensuring proper labeling and accurate handling.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
• Follow quality control protocols and regulatory standards (AABB, CAP, FDA, CLIA).
• Document test results, calibrations, and quality measures with accuracy.
• Communicate test findings clearly to healthcare staff.
• Support transfusion reaction investigations as required.
• Assist with inventory, reagent preparation, and supply stocking.

Position Requirements:

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Proficiency with basic PC and data entry tasks.
• Ability to move equipment (50–100 lbs), push/pull, bend, and remain active as needed.
• Ability to manage deadlines, irregular schedules, and high-pressure environments.
• Visual acuity and the ability to communicate effectively.
