This is not a remote role. Applicants must be able to report to work on time as scheduled.

Position: Physical Therapy Assistant

Location: Aiea, HI

Pay: $32/hour

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 7:00pm and Saturdays, 7:00am to 1:00pm

Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description

• Guide patients through stretches, strength training, and functional movements.
• Use tools like TENS units (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation), ultrasound machines, and assistive devices like walkers.
• Assist patients with relearning how to stand, walk, and keep their balance.
• Maintain clean spaces, sanitize gear, and use proper infection control.
• Record daily progress and treatment results accurately for the main physical therapist.
  
  

Position Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited two-year associate degree program for physical therapist assistants.
• Active state license or certification to practice as a PTA.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
• Strong communication and empathy to motivate patients through challenging recoveries.
