Location: Honolulu, HI

Pay: This position has a fixed rate of $38/hour

Experience: 2 years of professional nutrition therapy experience in a clinical setting; 5 years preferred.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Current Licensed Dietitian (LD) license in good standing with the State of Hawaii.

Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description

• Provide medical nutrition therapy and develop individualized nutritional care plans based on patient needs, clinical guidelines, and evidence-based practices.
• Apply knowledge of medical terminology, nutrition billing guidelines, clinical regulations, and professional nutrition theories.
• Assess patient health risks, support health promotion initiatives, and provide clear, accessible nutrition education.
• Use motivational interviewing and strong interpersonal communication skills to encourage patient engagement and support positive health outcomes.
• Develop easy-to-understand patient education materials and communicate nutritional recommendations effectively.
• Identify and utilize appropriate community, professional, and educational resources to support patient care.
• Manage multiple patients and clinical priorities effectively while demonstrating strong time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, providers, and members of the healthcare team.
  
  

Position Requirements

• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification preferred.
