Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Insulator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various insulation techniques and materials, as well as experience in construction environments. This role involves working with hand and power tools, reading blueprints, and collaborating with other trades to ensure high-quality insulation installation for residential and commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Install insulation materials in walls, ceilings, floors, and attics according to specifications and building codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine insulation requirements.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and installing insulation materials.
- Perform caulking and sealing of gaps to improve energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals including carpenters, HVAC technicians, and masonry workers to coordinate work.
- Conduct quality checks on installed insulation to ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols on the job site.
Skills
- Proficient in construction estimating and blueprint reading.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and various insulation materials including fiberglass, foam board, and spray foam.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to HVAC systems and building structures.
- Familiarity with plastering, stucco application, trim carpentry, frame carpentry, metal stud framing, concrete finishing, masonry work, and construction painting techniques.
- Ability to fabricate custom insulation solutions based on project needs.
- Experience with airless paint spraying is a plus.
