Project Engineer

Role Overview

K&K is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to support battery manufacturing capital projects from planning through mass production. This role works cross-functionally with engineering, construction, vendors, and global stakeholders to deliver safe, high-quality, and efficient battery production lines.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, supporting Engineers, Construction Management, Technicians, Vendors, and General Contractors to achieve project milestones.

• Support equipment procurement, installation planning through execution, commissioning, pre-production trials, and launch of battery manufacturing lines.

• Participate in advanced cleanliness protocols, including clean-room environments, as required for battery manufacturing.

• Support battery manufacturing trials to confirm equipment safety, quality, availability, and overall efficiency.

• Identify punch-list items, perform root-cause analysis, and manage countermeasures.

• Support KPI summarization, mass-production handover, and ongoing production issue resolution.

• Engage with domestic and international cross-functional teams to align on open items, schedules, and key milestones.

• Create and maintain detailed project schedules for assigned areas.

• Manage and maintain capital budgets for assigned project scopes.

• Complete required internal and external training.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field
  or 8 years of equivalent experience

• Experience supporting production preparation and execution of capital projects, preferably from initial planning through start of mass production.

• Project management experience with capital investments greater than $0.5M.

• Proven experience creating and maintaining detailed manufacturing equipment installation schedules with milestone tracking.

• Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings, including building facilities and process equipment layouts.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.

• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and plant shutdown periods (e.g., July and December shutdowns) as required by project schedules.

• Ability to work in industrial and clean-room environments, including use of required PPE.
