Job Overview
Our Delivery Driver is responsible for the local product delivery from warehouse to warehouse. The ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work alone and in small groups, and enjoy a fast-paced environment in the home décor distribution industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Tasks and functions related to deliveries
- Pre-trip and post-trip inspections are completed daily.
- Deliveries are made safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully to other departmental managers and warehouse associates.
- Assist the warehouse as needed.
- Understand documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Maintain a clean and effective workplace.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department manager.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must have, and maintain, a valid standard Driver’s license and meet insurance requirements.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Must have a strong understanding of DOT rules and regulations
- Must have a positive, winning attitude, and excellent attendance record.
- Must be a fast-paced individual with a strong work ethic.
- Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must be willing to work flexible shifts if needed.
Working Environment
This position operates in a warehouse environment. Normal working operational hours are Monday – Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm. Operational hours may be adjusted during peak season periods, and to include Saturdays. Regular, consistent attendance is required.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to load and unload palletized production repetitively throughout the shift. Spend work shift continually moving on feet, climbing in and out of the truck and up and down steps.
While performing the duties of this job, an employee is required to stand; balance; walk; climb steps; sit; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; talk; hear; and have specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral visions, good depth perception, and the ability to focus.
Pay: Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
