Job Title:
Assembly Seibi Technician – PLC & Controls (Final Assembly Engineering)
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Assembly Seibi Technician to support Final Assembly Production Engineering within a leading automotive manufacturing environment. This role is focused on PLC programming, equipment installation, and commissioning, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective production systems.
This is a hands-on, technical role ideal for someone with strong electrical and controls experience who thrives in equipment launch, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement environments.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Review equipment designs, drawings, and specifications; identify improvement opportunities
- Support vendor buyoffs to ensure equipment meets safety, quality, and productivity standards
- Install, commission, and support startup of assembly equipment and control systems
- Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs (Toyopuc, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Perform equipment trials, adjustments, and optimization during launch phases
- Verify quality using secondary validation methods (torque checks, vacuum profiles, etc.)
- Support cost reduction and efficiency improvements through early validation and process improvements
- Provide technical training to maintenance and production teams on new equipment
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for controls and equipment performance
- Travel up to 50% (including potential international travel) to support equipment validation and installation
Required Qualifications
- Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience (Toyopuc, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, or Allen-Bradley)
- Solid understanding of electrical circuits and industrial control systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Associate degree, technical certification (EET, Industrial Maintenance), or equivalent hands-on experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, controls, or automation
Preferred Experience
- Automotive manufacturing or assembly environment experience
- Industrial robotics programming and troubleshooting
- Experience with AGVs/AMRs and safety systems (scanners, interlocks)
- Industrial networking knowledge (EtherNet/IP, ProfiNet, FLNet, etc.)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in physically active environments
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing
- Comfortable working in hot, cold, or confined spaces
- Willingness to work overtime (up to 30%) as needed
