Position Summary
We are seeking a mechanically inclined, hands-on Quality Seibi / Dimensional Specialist to support body weld tooling and new model launch activities. This role focuses heavily on dimensional validation, metrology, and weld tooling confirmation across vendor sites and NAMCs.
The ideal candidate has a strong metrology background, experience with body weld equipment, and is comfortable making mechanical adjustments using various hand tools.
Key Responsibilities
Check and confirm body weld jigs, tools, pallets, parts, and assemblies to meet quality KPIs for new model launch
Prepare, troubleshoot, and validate new tooling/equipment at vendors
Support weld and tool quality confirmation at NAMCs from installation through SOP
Create and manage:
Quality Seibi daily plans
Project Task Reports
Problem Follow Sheets
Activity status tracking
Coordinate safety communications including:
JSAs
Countermeasures for unsafe conditions
Safety audits
Provide clear written and verbal updates to Seibi leadership, BAC, and management
Gather and analyze dimensional data from Digital Engineering systems and drawings
Perform confirmation using:
FARO Arm
FARO Laser Tracker
Check fixtures
Weld tooling measurements
Part fitting activities
Required Qualifications (Must Have)
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience
Experience adjusting and working with weld equipment
Background in metrology / dimensional analysis
Industry experience in one or more of:
Automotive
Aerospace
Military/Defense
Proficiency with MS Office:
Excel
PowerPoint
Word
Experience with PolyWorks
Experience with at least one of the following metrology systems:
FARO Arm
Hexagon
Delmia
CMM
Creaform
Work Environment & Travel
~50% travel to U.S. NAMCs and machine suppliers
Possible international travel (Canada and Japan)
~25% overtime expected
Weekend and holiday work during installation phases
