Job Description

JWF Industries is a growing metal manufacturing company, continuing to expand into defense & other markets with long-term work. We are seeking a fulltime Estimator to join our team of professionals in Johnstown, PA.

This is an important corporate support role, working closely with all levels of management, as well as the shop floor, that includes 1,000,000 square feet of metal manufacturing space.

The successful candidate will coordinate activities with technical development, scheduling, resolve drawing & project issues, and develop job costs. Manufacturing experience is required.

Essential Duties

• review project documentation for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and related specifications
• consult with clients, vendors, and others to formulate estimates and resolve issues
• work requires a firm understanding of configuration management and structured Bills of Materials (Engineering BOMs and Manufacturing BOMs)

Education Level

Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience

• Ability to read/analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for fabrications and assemblies
• Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor is preferred)
• Ability to create work-cell layouts and material flow diagrams
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office products
• Project Management experience is a plus; ERP system experience is a plus

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to have the ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and reach with arms. The employee may occasionally be required to visit manufacturing areas and support production operations. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision requirements include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This position works in both office and manufacturing environments. While in production areas, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and elevated noise levels. Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and industrial manufacturing conditions may occur.
