Shift Hours
Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm is typical with off shift hours as needed. This is a fulltime, in-person role.
Job Description
At JWF Industries, the Safety Manager is responsible for developing and implementing health and safety corporate strategy plans, enforcing policies, and assessing risk. They will conduct & facilitate training, monitor compliance, investigate & report incidents, and provide recommendations for improvement, aiming to create an overall safe workplace environment. The Safety Manager is also responsible for creating safety initiatives for the company and verifying that the workplace is run in accordance with legal guidelines and OSHA safety requirements. The focus is on promoting occupational health & safety and minimizing risks for employees.
Essential Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Visit all facilities and all work cells regularly to fully understand and keep track of company operations, will also conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment and materials
- Will work with Area Managers to keep all employees at each facility safe by identifying & eliminating risks
- Evaluate, assess and alter safety procedures and policies for the benefit of employees and JWFI
- Analyze accident reports and evaluate injury case studies based on available facts; track incident metrics and apply findings
- Prepare and conduct safety training sessions for employees and vendors
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (including OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Communicate with insurance companies & governing bodies and make recommendations in regard to Safety matters
Education Level
A completed degree in Safety Science or related field is preferred
Experience
Work will require a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Work requires knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment techniques, and the ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies
Work requires a high level of attention to detail and visual observations.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities; excellent organizational and motivational skills are required
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of the job, the individual is required to have the ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness. The individual is regularly required to stand, use hands (including gripping & grasping) and reach with arms. The individual is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The individual will frequently walk. The individual must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision requirements such as color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
While in Production areas, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. There is frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to wet and/ or humid conditions and extreme cold or heat, and a risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the production environment is usually loud.

Salary : $60,055 - $85,369
