Job Description
JWF Industries is a growing metal manufacturing company, continuing to expand into defense & other markets with long-term work. We are seeking Mechanical Engineering Technicians to join our in-person team of professionals in Johnstown, PA. These are important corporate support roles, working closely with all levels of management, as well as the shop floor, that includes 1,000,000 square feet of metal manufacturing space.
Essential Duties
Review project documentation for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and related specifications.
Work requires a firm understanding of configuration management and structured Bills of Materials (Engineering BOMs and Manufacturing BOMs).
Education Level
Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
- Ability to read/analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for fabrications and assemblies
- Knowledgeable in 2D and 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor is preferred)
- Ability to create work-cell layouts and material flow diagrams
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products
- Project Management experience is a plus; ERP system experience is a plus
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of the job, the individual is required to have the ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness. The individual is regularly required to stand, use hands (including gripping & grasping) and reach with arms. The individual is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The individual will frequently walk. The individual must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 30 lbs. Specific vision requirements such as color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
When in Productions areas, the individual may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to wet and/ or humid conditions and extreme cold or heat. The individual is at risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
