About the Company
A well-established General Contractor is looking to add an experienced Healthcare Project Manager / Senior Project Manager / Project Executive to its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with a strong track record delivering ground-up healthcare projects, including hospitals, medical office buildings, ambulatory care facilities, surgical centers, and other complex healthcare developments.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have the leadership ability to take ownership of projects from preconstruction through completion, while managing clients, subcontractors, consultants, schedules, budgets, and internal project teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall delivery of complex ground-up healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, and overall financial performance.
- Lead and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, and project staff.
- Work closely with owners, architects, engineers, healthcare systems, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, buyout, scope review, and contract negotiations.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation.
- Maintain project schedules and ensure critical milestones are achieved.
- Monitor project costs, forecasting, billing, cash flow, and profitability.
- Identify and mitigate project risks throughout the construction process.
- Lead owner and OAC meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
- Coordinate closely with field operations to ensure quality, safety, schedule, and budget expectations are met.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable healthcare construction standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Assist with preconstruction, estimating, budgeting, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
- Drive successful project closeout, commissioning, punch list, and turnover.
Project Experience
Candidates should have significant experience delivering ground-up healthcare projects, ideally including:
- Hospitals
- Medical Office Buildings (MOBs)
- Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs)
- Emergency Departments
- Cancer Centers
- Behavioral Health Facilities
- Specialty Medical Facilities
- Outpatient Facilities
- Healthcare Campuses
- Complex Healthcare Renovations / Expansions
Experience managing projects in the $25M–$100M range is highly desirable.
Senior-Level / PX Requirements
For candidates targeting the Project Executive level, the GC is looking for someone who can operate at a strategic level while maintaining strong project oversight. Ideal PX-level candidates will have experience:
- Managing multiple healthcare projects or large-scale programs.
- Leading project teams and developing senior project staff.
- Managing high-value client relationships.
- Overseeing project financial performance and forecasting.
- Supporting business development and client development.
- Participating in preconstruction and pursuit strategy.
- Establishing project execution strategies and processes.
- Working directly with healthcare owners and institutional clients.
- Providing leadership across both field and office operations.
Qualifications
- 8 years of commercial construction experience for a Project Manager/Senior PM.
- 12 years preferred for Project Executive candidates.
- Proven experience with ground-up healthcare construction.
- Experience working for a General Contractor.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and project controls.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex project requirements.
- Procore or similar construction management software experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred but not required.
Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
