Responsibilities
- Assist the Superintendent with daily management of commercial construction projects.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities and maintain production across the jobsite.
- Review plans, specifications and construction documents.
- Assist with site logistics, deliveries, sequencing and manpower coordination.
- Maintain short-term and look-ahead schedules with the Superintendent.
- Monitor subcontractor progress and quality of work.
- Assist with field coordination between trades.
- Identify potential construction issues and communicate them to the Superintendent.
- Assist with quality control and inspections.
- Coordinate inspections and help maintain project schedules.
- Assist with field measurements, layout and verification of existing conditions.
- Maintain daily reports and site documentation.
- Track materials, deliveries and equipment.
- Participate in subcontractor and project meetings.
- Assist with punch list, final inspections and project closeout.
- Help maintain a clean, organized and safe jobsite.
Qualifications
- 3 years of commercial construction experience.
- Previous experience as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Assistant Superintendent or similar role.
- General Contractor experience strongly preferred.
- Commercial construction experience required.
- Experience in multifamily, hotel/hospitality, medical office buildings or general commercial construction is highly desirable.
- Experience with masonry and precast/block-and-plank construction is a strong advantage.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
- Strong subcontractor coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to hold trades accountable for schedule, quality and completion.
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
- Hands-on, proactive approach to construction.
Pay range and compensation package
The majority of projects are around $15M–$20M, with larger projects also undertaken, including multifamily developments approaching $80M .
