Estimator

Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Estimator to join our clients preconstruction team in Tampa who are a General Contractor. This role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates across data centers, municipal infrastructure, industrial facilities, and commercial construction.

You will work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to build reliable budgets from early concept through final bid.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates from conceptual through hard bid
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
• Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier bids
• Identify risks, gaps, and value engineering opportunities
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits
• Support proposals and client presentations
• Coordinate handoff to operations teams
• Track local pricing trends and subcontractor market in Tampa

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar (or equivalent experience)
• 3–10 years of estimating experience with a general contractor
• Experience in at least one of: data centers, industrial, municipal, or commercial
• Proficiency with estimating tools (Bluebeam, OST, Procore, Sage, or similar)
• Strong understanding of construction methods and systems
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications

Preferred Experience

• Mission-critical or large-scale project experience
• Knowledge of the Tampa subcontractor market
• Experience with GMP and conceptual estimating
• Exposure to BIM/VDC workflows
