What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney - Workers' Compensation and Social Security Disability position at JURISolutions Legal (JSL)?
JURISolutions is seeking a plaintiff-side Workers' Comp/Social Security Disability associate for a permanent role with one of the largest Workers Comp firms in PA. This is an excellent opportunity for rising associates to gain mentorship from attorneys who have authored Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Practice and Procedure as well as represent workers (not employers or insurers) in their time of need.
The role itself consists of providing statewide coverage throughout Pennsylvania, including court appearances and depositions; locating and organizing exhibits and transcripts for cases awaiting briefs; drafting findings of fact, conclusions of law, and briefs for workers’ compensation judges; and preparing appellate briefs and occasional appeals to the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board. On the SS disability front, your responsibilities would include reviewing and screening new client matters to assess likelihood of success; evaluating other sources of income that may affect benefit value; identifying appeal and statute of limitation deadlines; and reviewing medical and vocational records.
