What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interim Counsel - Commercial Agreements position at JURISolutions Legal (JSL)?
JURISolutions is seeking a veteran transactional attorney to join its financial service industry client’s commercial contracting team for a 6–9 month, hybrid engagement in the NYC metro area. This contractor will serve as a key legal partner, owning the deal flow and providing strategic guidance across a high volume of transactions. This attorney will structure, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including master services agreements, platform and partner agreements, transactional contracts, and marketing or event-related agreements. In addition to managing day-to-day contracting, the role will support complex and strategic deals while advising on broader commercial considerations to help the business maintain momentum and close opportunities efficiently.
The ideal candidate will bring strong transactional experience and a pragmatic, business-oriented approach to legal counseling. This attorney will work closely with internal stakeholders to address issues related to data usage and privacy, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and tax in coordination with subject matter experts, ensuring all agreements align with corporate strategy, internal policies, and applicable laws. Success in this role requires the ability to independently manage a high volume of work while also contributing thoughtful legal strategy on more complex matters. Candidates should be proactive, solutions-oriented, comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, and eager to collaborate closely with business teams. An active license to practice law in a U.S. state is required.
