About the Role
The Engineer - Electrification designs functional, reliable, and cost-effective high-voltage electrical systems for heavy-duty vehicles. This role supports engineering analysis, electrical design, and development of systems and subsystems for both existing and new vehicles. Work is performed under close supervision, with a focus on supporting senior engineers and contributing to projects of limited complexity.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks according to established engineering standards and processes
- Support senior engineers in preparing plans, designs, computation methods, and reports
- Assist with projects of limited complexity in a support capacity
- Design electrical parts and components to meet parameters and specifications, incorporating quality, cost, reliability, and manufacturability
- Support basic calculations, analysis, and investigations aligned with engineering standards
- Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, or production builds, including issue resolution in manufacturing
- Process engineering changes through change notices, proposals, and creation of documentation
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams, business support functions, and external suppliers as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Maintain regular attendance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of electrification experience
Preferred Skills
- 5-10 years of electrification experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Familiarity with programming languages and controls software
- Knowledge of Controller Area Network (CAN)/SAE J1939 protocols
- Automotive high-voltage training or certifications
- Familiarity with power electronics and electric machines
- Knowledge of energy storage systems
