Position Summary:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse with strong clinical and communication skills to join our Clinical
Documentation team in Beaumont, Texas. You will facilitate improvements in the quality and completeness of
inpatient medical record documentation, ensuring accurate clinical coding and reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive review of inpatient medical records to identify documentation gaps.
• Interact with attending physicians and nursing staff to validate observations and request specific
documentation.
• Work closely with HIM coding staff to ensure discharge diagnoses and co-morbidities are accurately captured.
• Analyze patient clinical status and treatment plans to identify documentation deficiencies.
• Maintain positive, open communication with all clinical disciplines.
• Monitor DRG assignment accuracy and escalate discrepancies through appropriate channels.
• Participate in physician education initiatives on documentation best practices.
Education: BSN required; MSN or clinical informatics credentials preferred.
