Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Acute Medical/Surgical unit in Coushatta, Louisiana. You will provide independent nursing care to a general inpatient population in a community hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care consistent with professional scope and standards: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Manage an assigned group of patients, making appropriate clinical decisions and delegating to LPN/LVN and support staff.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and initiate prompt responses including emergency protocols.
• Administer medications and treatments per established protocols; document effectiveness and adverse reactions.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families with professionalism.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation of all patient care activities.
• Assess patient and caregiver learning needs and provide individualized discharge education.
Education: BSN preferred; ADN from an accredited program accepted.
Experience: 1 year of Medical/Surgical or acute care nursing experience preferred.
Licenses & Certifications: Active RN license (LA or compact); BLS required; ACLS preferred.
Work Type: Full Time | Schedule: 12-hour shifts; day and night rotations
