Duties

  • Serve as a technical Administrative Officer responsible for managing and directing the full range of administrative support functions.
  • Provide management functions essential to the direction and operation of an administrative and program support cell.
  • Provide management and administration of a Reserve program to include allocating resources, implementing budgets, and submitting annual reserve requirements.
  • Provide advice regarding planning, policy development, work methods and procedures, manpower, and other personnel services.
  • Exercise day-to-day supervision over assigned personnel.
  • Approve and certify monthly expenditures on government purchase cards.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a Tier 5 investigation/Single Scope Background Information (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Requires temporary duty travel (TDY) up to 20% of the work schedule.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising or assisting with advising on administrative matters such as planning, policy development, work methods and procedures, manpower utilization, and/or a wide range of personnel services; managing or assisting with the management of programs; and providing direction, advisement, or leadership to subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS/GG-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
