Macro Quantitative Researcher – New York - Octavius Finance

We are exclusively partnering with a high-profile boutique systematic macro hedge fund to hire a Macro Quantitative Researcher. The firm runs a global macro strategy combining fundamental macroeconomic insight with systematic investment processes across multiple asset classes.

The role sits close to the investment process and offers direct exposure to how macro research translates into systematic signals, portfolio construction, and portfolio risk decisions.

The Role

• Conduct research on macroeconomic regimes, policy dynamics, and global market behaviour
• Develop systematic macro signals using both market and fundamental macro data
• Build and refine macro nowcasting models and economic indicators
• Translate macroeconomic hypotheses into systematic trading strategies
• Contribute to portfolio construction and risk management
• Analyse macro data across rates, FX, equities, and commodities
• Collaborate closely with senior investors and researchers on strategy development
  
  
  

The Profile

• 4–7 years’ experience in macro research, systematic investing, or quantitative macro strategies
• Strong understanding of macroeconomics, central bank policy, and global markets
• Experience working with macroeconomic and financial market datasets
• Python or similar programming skills for data analysis and modelling
• Ability to connect quantitative signals with clear macroeconomic mechanisms
• Independent thinker with strong intellectual curiosity
• Clear communicator able to present research and ideas effectively
