About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II on behalf of one of our clients to support capital projects and drive equipment optimization at a cement plant. This role focuses on designing, upgrading, and improving plant equipment to enhance safety, reliability, and production capacity.
You will play a key role in executing CAPEX projects, supporting maintenance strategies, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support design and execution of plant CAPEX projects
- Develop and upgrade equipment to improve operational efficiency and reliability
- Compile OEM documentation and support development of preventive maintenance routines (PMRs), BOMs, and spare parts strategies
- Provide technical expertise across plant operations
- Prepare cost estimates and support capital planning and budgeting
- Plan, schedule, and execute projects effectively
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors, including evaluation and selection
- Support predictive and preventive maintenance programs (vibration analysis, oil analysis, inspections, NDT, etc.)
- Lead and support safety and quality initiatives, including design safety and construction quality programs
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA), FMEA, and other reliability improvement methodologies
- Support plant outages planning and execution to minimize downtime
- Optimize spare parts inventory in collaboration with warehouse teams
- Communicate maintenance and engineering improvement needs to leadership
- Promote and adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- OR
- 5 years of equivalent experience
Experience
- 5 years of experience in heavy industrial environments
- Experience in mechanical maintenance, plant projects, construction, or supervision
Technical Skills
- SAP
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Project
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Additional Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with reliability and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
Travel:
- Up to 5%
