Job Summary:

The Manager - Facilities Electrical Engineer will lead a team of electrical engineers and designers responsible for supporting facilities through electrical design, infrastructure development, and construction project management.
Responsibilities:
• Requires the management to Maintain core electrical infrastructure systems including, but not limited to outdoor substations, medium and low voltage power distribution systems and emergency and standby power systems, UPS, 400HZ power converters, fire alarm and fire protection systems, communication systems, grounding and lightning protection systems and other specialty systems.
• Requires the monitoring and development of short to mid-term site electrical medium voltage power distribution and infrastructure system planning and future project development, scoping and budgetary cost estimating.
• Requires expertly designing project load sizing, coordination studies, arch flash analysis and studies, Lightning protection maintenance and studies, development of construction drawings
• Development and leading electrical team for panel schedules, studies, labeling utilizing SKM Power Tools, ETAP or equivalent and panel sizing and designs.
• Requires supporting a project from design, through the bid cycle, construction project management followed by project closeout.
• Coordination and collaboration with project estimating, project scheduling, design of building electrical systems.
• Reviews practices, procedures, and processes to improve electrical systems maintenance procedures to reduce business risk related to core electrical systems
• Coordinate Electrical designs with other building design disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, IT, and security.
• Preparation of diagrams, sketches, construction drawings, cost estimates, bid documents and construction administration.
• Interface and coordinate projects with internal and external resources such as information technology, safety, security, internal construction trade workers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Qualifications:
Required:
• This role typically requires a BS Electrical Engineering, (BSEE), BS Architectural Engineer, Power Engineering or related discipline and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience in building electrical engineering or an advanced degree and five (5) years of relevant experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• At least five (5) years of prior relevant experience in building and facilities electrical engineering design.
• At least five (5) years in building electrical engineering with expertise or knowledge of the following: High, Medium and Low Voltage rated power distribution systems.
• Power Distribution Systems having multi-frequency ratings (e.g. 60 and 400 HZ.)
• Industrial grounding and bonding design in support for electrical safety and explosive safety.
• Lightning Protection Systems per NFPA 780 and Air Force Explosive requirements.
• Load calculations and electrical distribution equipment Sizing.
• Industrial controls and interlock systems.
• Electrical power distribution system engineering analysis including load, voltage drop, fault current, motor starting, harmonic and equipment arc flash evaluation and safety labeling.
• Overcurrent protective device Coordination Studies.
• Interior and exterior lighting design and controls.
• At least five (5) years of experience with construction project management including customer scoping meetings, budget monitoring, establishing and updating schedules, contractor coordination, commissioning, and close-out as well as familiarity with building electrical systems and general understanding of building construction and civil works.
• At least five (5) years of experience writing clear technical engineering specifications, reports and operating procedures.
Preferred:
• Have an active Professional Engineering license/registration in Electrical Engineering in the state of Arizona or be eligible to obtain the registration within 6 months from the date of hire.
• Knowledge of ICD705 physical security requirements for sensitive compartmented buildings and structures.
• Fundamental working knowledge of building automation systems and electrical metering systems.
• Experience with manufacturing and R&D and Testing Laboratory facilities and Building Automation Systems (BAS) and control systems such as: Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance within 120 days of acceptance and start of employment with RTX.
• Working knowledge of SKM Power Tools or related software for short circuit & arc fault analysis, load flow and voltage drop, and feeder, branch circuit, and transformer sizing, and overcurrent protective device coordination studies.
