Role Overview
One of our clients is hiring an Assistant Sales Manager to support showroom operations and partner closely with the Sales Manager to drive sales performance, team development, and an exceptional customer experience. This role provides hands-on leadership across sales, guest experience, and visual presentation while helping manage daily operations and staff performance.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Performance
- Support management of all showroom departments as directed by the Sales Manager
- Review sales performance including margins, volume, quotas, and closing ratios
- Help set and track future sales goals and performance benchmarks
- Assist with resolving escalated customer issues beyond the Guest Experience team
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide day-to-day leadership to sales, guest experience, and visual teams
- Coach and mentor team members to drive individual and team success
- Assist with hiring, training, onboarding, and ongoing coaching of sales staff
- Support performance evaluations and employee development planning
- Communicate policies, updates, and expectations clearly and consistently
Visual & Operational Support
- Partner with the Visual Presentation Manager on product placement and showroom standards
- Ensure accurate documentation of procedures and completed tasks
- Complete required reports accurately and on time
- Learn and support budgeted administrative costs including labor and supplies
- Attend monthly staff meetings and contribute to operational planning
Ideal Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- 2 years of experience working in a retail environment
- 4 years of supervisory experience in retail
- Prior people management experience required
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn and use internal systems and tools
- Strong customer issue resolution and decision-making skills
- Experience interviewing, hiring, and staffing retail locations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated team-building and leadership capabilities
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and travel as needed
