A premier, long-standing wholesale commercial distributor of electrical, lighting, and industrial building supplies is seeking an experienced, safety-first Non-CDL Route Delivery Driver. Backed by decades of continuous operation across the Hudson Valley, our central distribution hub supplies electrical contractors, builders, utilities, and commercial facilities with mission-critical gear.
We have an immediate opening for a dependable driver to operate a dedicated 26-foot straight box truck (under 26,001 lbs GVWR) servicing commercial contractor accounts throughout our Northern Hudson Valley territory (Orange, Sullivan, Ulster, and Dutchess counties).
This is a permanent, full-time Union position offering steady daytime hours, consistent freight, local regional routes, and comprehensive union-negotiated benefits. We are looking to fill this seat immediately.

Key Responsibilities
- Safe Fleet Operation: Safely maneuver a 26ft commercial box truck through highway corridors, local roads, and active commercial construction jobsites in full compliance with traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Order Delivery & Manifest Verification: Complete scheduled multi-stop delivery routes efficiently; inspect cargo against packing slips and purchase orders to verify accurate deliveries at every drop-off.
- Cargo Handling & Securement: Safely load, strap, transport, and offload electrical wholesale inventory—including wire reels, conduit bundles, electrical panels, commercial lighting fixtures, transformers, and fittings—utilizing liftgates, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Vehicle Inspections: Conduct daily Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR), checking fluids, brakes, lights, tire pressures, and liftgate functionality to maintain fleet safety.
- Customer Interaction: Serve as the professional, dependable representative of the company on commercial jobsites and customer facilities, collecting signed delivery receipts and bills of lading (BOLs).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Clean Driving Record (Strict Requirement): Valid driver's license with an exceptionally clean driving history (zero major moving violations, suspensions, or at-fault commercial collisions within the past 3–5 years). Driving records will be verified prior to scheduling an interview.
- 26ft Commercial Box Truck Experience: Minimum 1 years of professional experience operating a 24ft to 26ft straight truck or commercial box truck.
- DOT Medical Certification: Current DOT Medical Card or the ability to pass a standard DOT physical examination immediately prior to hire.
- Wholesale Trade Supply Experience (Preferred): Prior experience handling and delivering electrical components, plumbing, HVAC supplies, or commercial building materials.
- Physical Capability: Ability to safely push, pull, lift, and stage heavy commercial supplies up to 50–75 lbs using appropriate material-handling equipment.
- Availability: Available to start immediately upon completing pre-employment screening.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
