Purpose/Scope of Responsibility
- To provide intensive case management and group programming to refugee services clients per guidelines of the Preferred Communities, Ukrainian Initial Services, Refugee Entrant Program, and Afghan Supplemental assistance grants. (https://www.acf.hhs.gov/orr/programs/refugees/rph).
- The Case Manager will play a crucial role in coordinating and facilitating group programming activities for our clients while also providing supervision and mentorship to interns within our organization. This position requires a strong understanding of counseling techniques, group dynamics, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of clients and colleagues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures that all Preferred Communities program requirements are met on time.
- Collaborate with Preferred Communities Program Manager to ensure all reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Provides intensive case management, including assessment, cultural orientation, daily interaction with clients and follow up.
- Facilitate and coordinate group programming activities designed to meet the unique needs of our clients.
- Conduct assessments to identify clients' group program preferences and needs and monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of group programs, making necessary adjustments for improved outcomes
- Assess and create service plans with clients by obtaining relevant history, collecting and evaluating information, and providing appropriate referrals as needed.
- Works closely with clients on barrier removal, one-on-one and/or in group settings.
- Maintains client-related documentation standards by preparing and completing in a timely manner all required records and reports for all assigned clients in all data management systems (Computerized case notes, Apricot and Unicentric documentation, etc.).
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending agency in-service programs, educational workshops, state and national trainings and conferences, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
Connect clients to external and internal resources to meet individual goals.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (LL/LBSW) or a related field, and/or equivalent experience.
- Experience in group programming.
- Strong knowledge of counseling techniques and group dynamics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring interns is a preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Knowledge of refugee populations and/or community service experience is advantageous
- Computer competency
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent data management and organizational skills
- Language proficiency in Arabic, Spanish, Swahili, and/or Pashto is preferred but not required
