Auto Body Technician & Painter
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Auto Body Technician & Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience performing collision repairs, preparing vehicles and RV's for paint, and applying high-quality finishes. This position requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to producing exceptional workmanship while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform collision repairs, including structural and non-structural body work.
- Repair or replace damaged body panels, bumpers, and other vehicle components.
- Prepare vehicles for paint by sanding, masking, priming, and applying fillers as needed.
- Mix and match paint colors accurately using manufacturer specifications.
- Apply primer, base coat, and clear coat to achieve a factory-quality finish.
- Buff, polish, and finish painted surfaces.
- Inspect completed repairs to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
- Follow all OSHA and shop safety procedures.
- Communicate with estimators, managers, and team members regarding repair progress and any additional damage found.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an auto body technician, painter, or combination technician.
- Knowledge of collision repair techniques and refinishing processes.
- Ability to operate body repair and paint equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
- I-CAR or ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions throughout the day.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
