Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, listening carefully to their vehicle concerns to determine service needs.
- Write detailed repair orders by accurately documenting customer complaints, vehicle symptoms, and requested services.
- Utilize estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools to prepare precise repair estimates.
- Communicate clearly with technicians regarding repair procedures, parts needed, and estimated timeframes.
- Maintain ongoing client communication throughout the repair process, providing updates and explanations of recommended repairs.
- Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently while ensuring accuracy in all financial dealings.
- Coordinate with parts departments and manage scheduling to ensure timely completion of services.
- Promote dealership services by identifying opportunities for additional sales through expert knowledge of automotive diagnostics and repair options.
- Ensure all documentation complies with dealership policies and warranty requirements for collision repair or mechanical work.
Experience
- Previous experience in auto service management or as a service technician is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on mechanic experience or automotive diagnostics expertise.
- Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
- Proven ability in auto estimating, upselling services, and handling customer inquiries confidently.
- Dealership experience or background in automotive repair including transmissions, oil changes, alignments, tire service, shocks & struts, brake repairs, suspension work, and collision repair is advantageous.
- Excellent client communication skills combined with a friendly demeanor to foster trust and loyalty.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed.
