What You'll Do
- Operate heavy equipment used to construct, maintain, and repair County roads, bridges, drainage systems, and rights-of-way.
- Perform roadway maintenance, grading, ditching, culvert installation, snow removal, and emergency response.
- Inspect and maintain assigned equipment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Position Expectations: This position requires work both indoors and outdoors throughout the year. Employees should expect to perform physically demanding work, operate maintenance equipment safely, respond to routine maintenance needs, and work in varying weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or HSE.
- Valid Missouri driver's license.
- Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL), or the ability to obtain within a reasonable period of employment.
- Experience operating heavy construction, agricultural, or public works equipment preferred.
- Experience in roadway maintenance, construction, or related work preferred.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a DOT pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, DOT physical examination, satisfactory background investigation, motor vehicle record review, and meeting all County requirements for operating a County vehicle.
