Job purpose
Assist Site Superintendent in completing all work in a safe manner to the quality set forth by the Company and the Project Manager.
Duties and responsibilities
- Operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, or grade tractors.
- Prepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation.
- Uses excavating machinery to dig holes and trenches used in structural concrete.
- Transports tools and other construction equipment to and from construction sites.
- Uses equipment to prepare building sites for exterior site concrete such as parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and loading docks.
- General labor to include demolition, moving materials, and job site clean up
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Communicate with Site Superintendent and follow directions
- Other miscellaneous labor tasks as assigned
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED is preferred
Minimum two years equipment operating experience required
Qualifications
- Experience with Topcon GPS preferred
- Excellent Industry Knowledge preferred
- Positive Attitude and Communication
- Able to successfully follow verbal instructions
- Excellent attention to detail
- Adapt to change well
- A Good Team Player
- CDL Class A or B preferred but not required
Working conditions
Working conditions at William’s Construction may include normal office conditions. Some positions may include enduring hot weather, standing for extended periods of time on concrete flooring, dirt and lifting heavy objects to waist height and/or above the head.
Hire may be required to endure the elements. This could include being out in foul weather
Physical requirements
This position is expected to endure up to 8 hours of standing and walking on concrete or uneven ground on jobsites. Site work including climbing on stairs and ladders.
Seeing: Must able to see to read and follow instructions
Hearing: Must be able to hear to effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and coworkers
Sitting: Must be able to sit for long periods of time
Standing/Walking: Must be able to move about worksite
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up products or materials
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
Condition of Employment
Successful candidate may need to submit to random and/or DOT drug testing throughout employment and successfully pass a background check.
