Established in 1884, the property blends Southern hospitality with authentic Victorian charm. The Jarrett House includes guest rooms, a full-service restaurant, event space with bar service, and a retail bakery featuring house-made desserts. We are looking for dependable, service-minded team members who want to be part of a historic hospitality property and help create memorable guest experiences.

Position Overview

Dishwashers help maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen by ensuring dishes, glassware, cookware, utensils, and equipment are cleaned and ready for use. This role supports the restaurant, bakery, and event operations by keeping the dish area organized, assisting with cleaning tasks, and helping the kitchen team stay prepared during service. Dishwashers should be reliable, hardworking, and comfortable working in a busy back-of-house environment.

Responsibilities

Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, trays, and kitchen equipment.

Operate dishwashing equipment safely and properly.

Maintain cleanliness in the dish area, kitchen, and storage spaces.

Keep clean items organized and available for kitchen and service teams.

Remove trash and recycling as needed.

Assist with sweeping, mopping, and general cleaning duties.

Support kitchen staff with basic prep or stocking tasks when needed.

Follow all sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety standards.

Communicate supply or maintenance needs to supervisors.

Help maintain a clean and organized back-of-house environment.

Qualifications

Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred, but not required.

Reliable, hardworking, and able to work at a steady pace.

Ability to work well with kitchen and service teams.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Dependable, punctual, and available for flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Ability to stand, bend, lift, carry, and move throughout a shift.

Compensation

Starting at $16 /hour, dependent upon experience and position. Employee dining/retail discounts and growth opportunities in a historic community-focused setting.
